Launch
This week saw the launch of Make It Studios with an amazing arts and crafts workshop on Saturday morning. What an amazing bunch we had in the studio, making a bunny collage. Thanks again to everyone for coming and I hope to see you again very soon!
Weekly Classes
Weekly classes will start on Saturday 2nd March 2024 in Harry’s Place, Market Square, Ballynahinch and will run for 5 weeks until Saturday 30th March 2024. Please get in touch for more info.
Dr Seuss Day
Come join us on 2nd March to celebrate all things Dr Suess. This whimsical occasion encourages reading, creativity and imagination all the things we here at Make it studio believe in so passionately.

Afterschool Classes
We have had a fantastic 1/2 term in Drumlins IPS. Thank you to all the parents who have supported the classes this year.
New Premises!
Keep your eyes peeled for more information on the opening of new premises in Carryduff.
The new premises will allow us to provide more variety in our classes also offer classes 7 days per week.

age 4-8: 6.30pm-7.15pm
age 9-12: 7.30pm-8.15pm
Christmas Event
We will be hosting a Christmas arts and crafts workshop on Saturday 16th December in Saintfield Community Centre 10am-12pm and St Patricks Parish hall. 1pm-3pm. £12 for the 2 hour session. Please get in touch to book your child’s place

RULE 1
Listen and Respect: Emphasise the importance of listening to the workshop instructors and respecting their instructions. Children should understand the necessity of following instructions carefully to ensure their safety and the safety of others. Encourage them to respect the materials, tools, and the personal space of their fellow participants.
RULE 2
Cleanliness and Tidiness: Talk to your child about the importance of cleaning up after themselves. We will be encouraging each child to put away any art supplies they have used, clean their workspace, and dispose of waste properly. This will help instil a sense of responsibility for their environment.

Make it Studio are collecting personal information to ensure child health and safety. We will keep your information secure, accurate and for no longer than is necessary in accordance with the new General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR). GDPR is just an update on the General Data Protection Act (1998). Data will be held securely and in the strictest of confidence in compliance with GDPR and only myself will have access to your data. Personal data will be not be revealed and Freedom of Legislation will allow access to certain non-personal or generalised data. Photographic Consent
Photographs may be taken and used to promote our activities; via press releases and social media etc.
Without expectation of compensation or other remuneration l give consent to Make It Studio to use the image of my child/children in my legal charge (name above) in its promotions, publications, advertising or other media activities including; newspapers, websites, social media, flyers and marketing material. I understand that the information provided in this form will be used for the administration of the event described above and managed/stored in accordance with data protection laws.

Make It Studio believes that it is always unacceptable for a child or young person to experience abuse of any kind and recognises it’s responsibility to safeguard the welfare of all children and young people, by a commitment to practice which protects them.

This policy applies to all staff, including senior managers and the board of trustees, paid staff, volunteers and sessional workers, agency staff, students or anyone working on behalf of Make It Studio.
We will seek to safeguard children and young people by:
Valuing them, listening to and respecting them
Adopting child protection guidelines through procedures and a code of conduct for staff and volunteers
Recruiting staff and volunteers safely, ensuring all necessary checks are made
All staff and volunteers will be required to hold a valid Access NI ‘Enhanced Disclosure Certificate’
Sharing information about child protection and good practice with children, parents, staff and volunteers
Sharing information about concerns with agencies who need to know, and involving parents and child appropriately
Providing effective management for staff and volunteers through supervision, support and training
We are also committed to reviewing our policy and good practice annually.
